How the IBAN is built in Turkey

The IBAN (International Bank Account Number) in Turkey has 26 characters. It starts with the country code TR, followed by two check digits. The BBAN part (Basic Bank Account Number) then holds the bank code (5 digits, positions 5 to 9 of the IBAN) and the account number (16 digits, positions 11 to 26). Between the bank code and the account number there are 1 further digits (for example a branch code or check character).
